The EU is at a critical crossroads. Much progress on migration has been made to date. Taking stock of 2013, the negotiations for the Common European Asylum System were concluded; EUROSUR, the Schengen package to protect EU borders, has been adopted; and agreement was reached on the Seasonal Workers directive. But much work remains to be done, Cecilia Malmström, European Commissioner for Home Affairs, told participants in this Policy Briefing.
