The Brexit negotiations are starting at a time of deep transformation for the energy systems of both the UK and the EU. As the energy transition goes on, increased interconnectivity within the framework of the internal market for energy has contributed to a rising interdependence that will not stop under any Brexit scenario. However, from market access to renewables and emission policies, a wide range of policy areas are expected to come under considerable uncertainty in the highly political negotiation process. This Policy Dialogue explored the impact of Brexit on energy and climate policy in the UK and the EU, featuring a panel of speakers that attempted to identify the main policy challenges and shed some light on possible future options for energy and climate relations between both sides of the Channel.
