Relations between Russia and the EU, which have been described in the past as a "strategic partnership", are now in deep crisis. While relations have traditionally been characterised by both conflict and cooperation, they reached an all-time low following Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the conflict in Eastern Ukraine. This European Policy Centre (EPC) dialogue brought together a panel of experts to focus not only on possible ways to re-set relations once the Ukraine crisis is resolved, but to also discuss how best the EU and Russia can cooperate on common challenges and areas of mutual interest. A new report produced by Valdai Discussion Club on this topic formed the basis for these discussions.
