The Policy Dialogue looked at economic forecasts for the year ahead from the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). An annual occurrence, this policy dialogue focused on the economic recovery taking place in the European Union, and in particular the Economic and Monetary Union, and on the political risks and unresolved issues that might threaten that recovery. This notably includes a number of elections coming up this year that could pose challenges, as well as questions surrounding Brexit, Greece, the future of global economic cooperation, and the banking sector in countries such as Italy. The event was chaired by Fabian Zuleeg, Chief Executive and Chief Economist, EPC.
Speakers included: Marco Buti, Director-General, DG Economic and Financial Affairs, European Commission, Jeffrey Franks, Director of the IMF Europe Office
