EVENT
Tuesday, 16 February 2016

Under the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which started in July 2015, one of the biggest refugee crises the EU has experienced since World War II erupted and almost overnight became the top priority for EU leaders. With the sense of urgency increasing every day, it was the daily mission of the Presidency to find common solutions and reach agreements on contentious issues. One of the key players in this effort was Luxembourg Minister for Foreign and& European Affairs and Minister for Immigration and Asylum, Jean Asselborn. At this Sixty-minute Briefing, Mr Asselborn gave his own views on the crisis and how the EU and member states have tried to address the situation, from a unique, insider’s perspective.
