The European Policy Centre (EPC) and Korea Business Association Europe (KBA Europe) hosted an event on the benefits and challenges of liberalising trade in greener goods and services. In particular, the event looked at the ongoing talks on the Green Goods Initiative. The initiative involving the EU and 13 other World Trade Organization (WTO) members aims to remove tariffs on a range of environmental goods. The event summarised updates on the current state of negotiations and the issues which are likely to arise in the coming year. Speakers from industry and civil society set out their priorities, wishes and concerns relating to this agreement. The environmental goods provisions of the current EU-Korean free trade agreement were also examined from an academic perspective.
