Policy Dialogue
Turkey and the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership – Realities and expectations

EVENT
Tuesday, 26 November 2013

Turkey’s Customs Union with the EU might be in question unless the country's interests are protected in the current Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) talks, heard participants in this Turkish Insights Policy Dialogue. The potential impact of a TTIP deal on the multilateral trading system is an important issue for Turkey, and it is hoped that economic integration between the EU and the US will not lead to economic disintegration between the EU and Turkey. Speakers included: Ignacio Garcia Bercero, Chief Negotatior for the TTIP talks, DG Trade, European Commission; Serdar Yeşilyurt, Director of EU Representation Office, Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkiye (TUSKON; Elena Bryan, Senior Trade Representative, US Mission to the EU; and Vital Moreira, MEP and Chairman of International Trade Committee, European Parliament.
