Roundtable
Turkey and the new regional balance in the Middle East

EVENT
Monday, 08 April 2013

The Arab Spring can be seen as a turning point in the regional balance of power of the Middle East, substantially altering the face of the region forever, having both regional and global implications. Its impact can also be seen as a turning point on the strategic landscape, with relations between regional players and their international partners shaken up, bringing to the fore the different approaches and roles of a number of players. This roundtable discussion, organised in cooperation with TUSKON, focused on the ongoing developments in the region, including related to Syria, Iraq and Iran, and analysed the ongoing regional power shifts and the role of key regional actors including, in particular, Turkey.
