Defining ‘security’ is a central theme of the Polish Council Presidency. Warsaw’s semester at the helm of the Council comes at a pivotal time for the European continent. Amid Trump’s shift away from its transatlantic partners, the UK-EU relations, particularly in defence and security, becomes fundamental in shaping the European security architecture.

This hybrid Policy Dialogue will discuss the state and future of UK-EU relations in defence and security. It will also examine EU-UK trade & investment in view of the upcoming 2026 review of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA). This event aims to analyse the prospects and scope of the EU-UK defence cooperation agreement, the reinvigoration of pan-European defence industrial base, political and strategic coordination between the partners across Europe, as well as making the TCA more robust in the context of USA’s more assertive trade policy.

This event takes place in the context of the Project Presidency, a series of joint activities of the EPC and PISM to discuss key policy issues during the Polish Presidency of the Council.

Participation is open to EPC members only, the media, and EU officials
