Communications Team Vacancies


The EPC is recruiting for two roles in its Communications team:

· Media Officer: full time position recruited at executive level, with at least two years’ experience;
· Media Assistant: 6 months junior position equivalent to a paid internship. 

Both candidates should have the following profile:
· An undergraduate or higher University degree;
· Strong interest in European affairs and commitment to European integration;
· Fluent in English, fluency in at least one other major European language is desirable;
· Creative, innovative, reliable and responsive;
· Comfortable using content-management systems social media posting, monitoring and automating tools;
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-cultural and multidisciplinary team;
· Experience with graphic design tools (e.g Canva or Illustrator) and knowledge of web technologies an advantage;
· Experience in graphic design, audio or video editing would be an advantage;
· Be based in or be willing to travel frequently to Brussels. 

The Media Officer should in addition have experience in at least one of the following areas:
· Working in digital media, mass media (broadcast, print or online);
· In mass media relations;
· Hosting podcasts or video products.

Media Officer ­– Main Duties
· Prepare press releases, op-notes and other communications with the media;
· Field incoming media bids, and direct obtain reaction pieces from analysts;
· Support Editor in Chief in preparing website copy and other textual communications outputs and supervising layout of EPC publications;
· Lead digital analytics reporting;
· Produce and host podcasts with EPC analysts and external guests;
· Prepare content for press releases, the EPC annual report and other EPC outputs;
· Mentor Media Assistant;
· Sell stories based on EPC research into the media;
· Support Editor in Chief in ensuring the quality of publications;
· Advise analyst teams on the presentation of their research to maximise impact;
· With the Head of Communications, develop relationships with media in Brussels and member states.

Media Assistant – Main Duties
· Managing the EPC’s digital presence across social media platforms;
· Keeping the website updated thorough the content management system;
· Liaising with the Events team to promote and live posting of events on Twitter and other platforms;
· Organise the collection of data for analytics;
· Support the communications team in other tasks;
· Play an active role in the EPC Operations team.

The Media Assistant position is offered under a CIP contract (“convention d’immersion professionelle”) and assistants are normally expected to be based in Brussels or in a location with easy access to Brussels.
